Sir Tumani Corrah is a Gambian clinician and medical researcher whose work covers tuberculosis, HIV, malaria and pneumonia, and the place of leadership in people-centred health systems. He has published more than a hundred and forty peer-reviewed papers.
He became the first Emeritus Director of the Medical Research Council Unit The Gambia in 2014, and is Director of the Africa Research Excellence Fund and of Africa Research Development at the MRC, alongside roles with the Gates Foundation and the World Health Organization. He is a Member of the Order of the Republic of the Gambia, was made an honorary CBE in 2007 and an honorary KBE in 2019, substantive from 2021.
